As a global company we have an opportunity to make a big impact on the world. Our communities — the hometowns where we live and work are under stress — and we want to do our part to help. So earlier this month, we committed to $20M in cash and 'in-kind' donations to help support those most affected by coronavirus around the world.
Our Associates have also been showing up as an extended family in support of the health and wellbeing of one another, the people and pets we serve, and our communities.
The Mars Fishcare North America team in Chalfont, Pennsylvania are a great example of this.
What started with a simple question — “can we produce hand sanitizer?” — resulted in our entire team answering the call. Rooted in the spirit of The Five Principles, this team rose to the challenge and found a solution, fast.
In just three weeks, the team produced and donated nearly 300 gallons of hand sanitizer to the Bucks County Emergency Management Agency and the Central Bucks Emergency Medical Services. Both organizations are doing incredible work delivering much-needed supplies to our first responders and other critical personnel in our central Bucks County, Pennsylvania community.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to the first responders who risk their lives on the frontlines every day to keep our family, friends and community safe from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Craig Hall, the General Manager of Mars Fishcare. “I am humbled that our Associates have been able to play even a small role in keeping them safe, and by the many ways our community has come together to support each other at such a critical time.”
