Mars Food and Multisales Donates Over $1.9 Million in Funds and Food for Worldwide Coronavirus Relief Efforts

Mars Food is proud to stand with our local communities to provide food for those who need it most right now amidst the coronavirus pandemic. With more than $1.9 million in cash and in-kind donations from Mars Food and Multisales to date, we are able to help address some of the most urgent needs around the world right away. This effort is part of the $20 million commitment Mars made to support the most vulnerable in the communities where we live and operate.

With more than 2,000 Associates working in offices and 12 manufacturing sites, we are able to identify and mobilize quickly to provide necessary supplies. From the United States and the United Kingdom to France and India, here are just a few examples of our ongoing worldwide efforts to help support our communities.

Mars Food North America is producing and delivering an additional 154 tons of Ben’s Original™ rice to support Feeding America, the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the U.S. This donation supplements our existing long-standing commitment to provide more than 2.2 million healthy meals to the network’s more than 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs across the country.

Mars Food UK Provides 3 Million Meals for Charity Partners and First Responders

“We are immensely proud of how our businesses in the U.K. have responded,” said Craig Sargeant, General Manager, Mars Food UK. “Our Associates have risen to the magnitude of the occasion and are working tirelessly to deliver three million meals through food and financial support to our communities and show how we put #TomorrowStartsToday into practice every day.”

We gave Trussell Trust, the U.K.’s largest food bank network, a £125,000 donation ($155,850) to help provide three million meals to charities, food banks and National Health Service staff.

Additional in-kind donations of dry rice and DOLMIO® sauces are earmarked for Family Action, the British organization that provides emergency assistance and community-based support services for U.K. families in crisis.

We also increased our food donations for Hisfood’s COVID-19 emergency care pallets. Our charity redistribution partner will distribute this food to a wide variety of charities and organizations across the U.K.

KIND has so far donated over 700,000 bars to organizations that need them most, including over 300,000 bars to the NHS.

Associates at our factory in Kings Lynn are donating more than 2,000 ready-to-heat rice pouches every week to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. We are proud to provide our local National Health Service staff a quick, warm and delicious meal.

Mars Food Provides Healthy Meals for Those on the Front Lines

Mars Food is providing healthy meals — both in hospitals and as individual parcels — to medical professionals working tirelessly as front-line heroes. In Chicago, we provided more than 1,400 meals to health care workers at Rush University Medical Center and Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, while in France our team donated 500 single-use coats to local hospitals.
