Samsung Galaxy A90 5G – High-End Technology

The Galaxy A series is located between the mid-range and the high, with a large number of cameras and a strong commitment to the battery. But with the new Samsung Galaxy A90 5G, they have not cut so much in features. The flagship of the range does not have the reach of the Galaxy S10 and at various points such as the design or the screen is clearly below, but the new Galaxy A90 5G is a worthy example of what the South Korean manufacturer is capable of.

Gone is the commitment to the rotating camera we saw in the Galaxy A80. With the new model we have a design closer to the Galaxy A50, with a Super AMOLED screen and ‘notch’, the triple camera on the back and the incorporation of the latest Qualcomm to offer us great speed. That is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with the X50 modem to offer 5G connectivity.

6.7-inch Infinity-U display

The new Galaxy A90 5G is not a compact smartphone. You only need to look at its dimensions to realize it. We have a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with FullHD + resolution and an Infinity-U format, which is nothing other than the name placed by the brand to designate the front ‘notch’ in the form of a drop of water.

The back of the terminal is made of glass, with several geometric shapes and available in two colours; black and white We have a cover divided into four zones; one smooth, another with several colours and the sides with different tones. A very characteristic pattern that moves away from what we had seen so far in other terminals.

The fingerprint reader is integrated into the screen, so we will not have a slit in the back. We do not have a mini-jack either, although a USB Type-C adapter is incorporated.

Aligning with Qualcomm to offer 5G

Samsung has decided to partner with Qualcomm to offer 5G NSA (Non-Standalone) on the Galaxy A90 5G. And it is that in addition to incorporating the powerful Snapdragon 855 processor, the same that many flagships offer, it also adds the Snapdragon X50 5G model to connect to the new high-speed networks.

Accompanying the processor we have versions with 6 and 8GB of RAM. For storage, we have 128GB that will be expandable with microSD up to 512GB, although only in the case of the 6GB version. The most powerful model does not have a MicroSD slot.

The battery is another highlight of this Galaxy A90 5G as it has 4,500 mAh and a fast charge of 25W. A large amount necessary for both that large screen and the 5G connection, which at the moment continues to consume more than the 4G connection.

For the most advanced model of the A-series, the company has also chosen to add support to Samsung DeX and the Microsoft Your Phone application with which mobile information can be sent to the computer or TV.

Triple camera with 48 megapixels and wide-angle

The Samsung Galaxy A90 5G incorporates a triple rear camera system, with the main sensor of 48 megapixels, a secondary of 8 megapixels for a wide angle of 123 degrees and a third of 5 megapixels for portrait mode and depth detection. Along with this configuration, Samsung adds artificial intelligence improvements such as ‘Super Steady’ stabilization, scene optimization and defect detection.

For the front camera, we have a 32-megapixel sensor with an f / 2.0 aperture lens that incorporates a ‘Live Focus’ mode to improve selfies or group videos.

Previously it had been rumoured that the Galaxy A90 would also arrive with a different version in which an additional OIS tilt sensor would be added, but that model has not yet been announced.

Versions and price of the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G

The Samsung Galaxy A90 5G will be available from September 4 in Korea and will soon reach more markets, predictably to take advantage of the new rates with 5G that more and more operators are offering. About the official price, there is still no confirmation.
